Sunway Construction Unit Secures Work Orders Valued at RM386mil from US-Based Tech Firm

A unit of Sunway Construction Group Bhd has secured new work orders valued at RM386 million from a United States–based technology firm, strengthening its order book and underscoring continued demand for high-value construction works linked to the global technology sector.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the contracts involve the construction of specialised facilities, with works scheduled to commence progressively and be completed over the next few years. The projects are expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings during the contract period.

Sunway Construction noted that the awarded works align with its strategic focus on complex and large-scale projects, particularly those tied to technology-driven infrastructure and industrial developments. The group has increasingly positioned itself as a preferred contractor for multinational clients requiring high technical standards and timely execution.

The latest job wins lift Sunway Construction’s outstanding order book, providing earnings visibility and reinforcing its exposure to sectors benefiting from long-term structural growth, including data centres and advanced industrial facilities.

Analysts view the contracts as supportive of the group’s medium-term outlook, citing robust demand from technology players expanding their regional footprint. The award also reflects continued confidence by international clients in Malaysia’s construction capabilities and operating environment.

Sunway Construction said the work orders are not expected to have a material impact on the group’s net assets or gearing, and pose no unusual operational or financial risks.
