KUALA LUMPUR — SNS Network Technology Bhd has entered into a joint venture (JV) with MIMOS Bhd, Malaysia’s national applied research and development (R&D) centre, to enhance digital assurance, cybersecurity compliance, and trust-based infrastructure across Malaysia’s digital economy.
The collaboration aims to address the growing demand for data integrity, cybersecurity governance, and digital risk assurance among enterprises and government-linked organisations. The JV will leverage MIMOS’s technological capabilities and SNS Network’s digital infrastructure expertise to deliver integrated assurance solutions.
“This joint venture represents a strategic milestone for both organisations,” said Mr. Ko Yun Hung, Managing Director of SNS Network. “Our combined expertise will help enterprises ensure compliance, mitigate cyber risks, and strengthen digital trust frameworks essential for Malaysia’s transition into a secure digital economy.”
Strategic Partnership to Advance Malaysia’s Cybersecurity and Governance Goals
The new JV, provisionally named SNS MIMOS Digital Assurance Sdn Bhd, will focus on developing AI-driven compliance solutions, cyber risk analytics, and blockchain-enabled digital audit systems.
It aligns closely with the National Digital Economy Blueprint (MyDIGITAL) and Cybersecurity Malaysia’s National Strategy 2026, supporting the government’s mission to build a resilient, trusted, and inclusive digital ecosystem.
“As Malaysia accelerates its digital transformation, ensuring robust assurance and compliance systems becomes a national priority,” said Dr. Iskandar Samad, President and CEO of MIMOS. “Our partnership with SNS Network enables the practical deployment of advanced technologies for real-time compliance monitoring and digital certification.”
Enhancing Digital Trust Across Sectors
The JV will provide end-to-end digital assurance services, including:
- Cybersecurity compliance audits
- Data governance and privacy assurance
- AI model validation frameworks
- ISO 27001 and ESG data assurance certification
- Government-linked company (GLC) digital maturity assessments
The initiative also aims to help Malaysian organisations meet the stringent requirements of international digital compliance standards, such as EU GDPR, ISO/IEC 38505, and AI governance frameworks emerging across ASEAN and the European Union.
According to IFCCI’s Technology Governance Division, digital assurance is now seen as a strategic enabler of financial stability and investor confidence.
R&D and Talent Development Focus
The JV will also drive talent development programs in partnership with universities and professional certification bodies, including IFCCI, focusing on digital assurance certification, cybersecurity compliance, and AI ethics governance.
This collaboration will help cultivate Malaysia’s next generation of digital auditors and compliance specialists, addressing a growing talent gap in the cybersecurity assurance sector.
The partners will jointly establish a Digital Assurance Competency Centre to train and certify professionals, targeting both private and public sector participants.
Driving Economic and ESG Impact
MIMOS and SNS Network emphasized that digital assurance is not just a compliance requirement but also a strategic ESG pillar for corporate resilience and stakeholder trust.
By integrating environmental, social, and governance principles into digital audit systems, the JV aims to help corporations quantify and verify their digital sustainability performance, especially in energy, finance, and technology sectors.
