Maxis Fully Restores Services Affected by Tower Fire in Kuala Kangsar
Maxis Bhd has confirmed that all telecommunication services affected by a tower fire in Kuala Kangsar have been fully restored, following swift recovery and network stabilisation efforts.
In a statement, the telecommunications operator said the incident, which disrupted mobile and data connectivity in parts of Kuala Kangsar, was caused by a fire at a transmission tower. Emergency response protocols were immediately activated once the disruption was detected.
Maxis noted that its technical teams were promptly deployed to assess the damage, implement temporary network solutions and restore affected services as quickly as possible. Full service restoration was achieved after repair works and system testing were completed to ensure network stability and performance.
“We regret the inconvenience experienced by customers and thank them for their patience and understanding while our teams worked to restore services safely and efficiently,” the company said.
The operator added that customer safety and network resilience remain top priorities. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing, and additional preventive measures will be implemented to reduce the risk of similar incidents in the future.
Industry observers note that infrastructure-related disruptions, while relatively rare, highlight the importance of network redundancy and rapid-response capabilities as Malaysia’s reliance on digital connectivity continues to grow.
Maxis reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high service reliability standards, particularly as demand for uninterrupted mobile and data services increases across both consumer and enterprise segments.
