That’s huge growth—though to put it in perspective, the forex market is still much larger. 💱

If you’re new to crypto, figuring out where to start can feel…well, completely overwhelming. 😅
So instead of diving headfirst into the entire crypto universe, let’s start with just one coin:

Bitcoin.

Why Start With Bitcoin?

Bitcoin was the very first cryptocurrency ever created, and it laid the technological foundation for everything that came after.

By understanding what Bitcoin is, how it works, and why it exists, you’ll gain a solid grasp of the core ideas that apply to many other cryptocurrencies as well.

So, What Is Bitcoin?

Let’s try a very simplified definition:

Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency, powered by open-source software, that allows people to send and receive value without needing a central authority.

Here’s a more technical version (don’t panic):

Bitcoin transactions are validated by miners through a process called Proof of Work (PoW), then recorded on a blockchain—a public, decentralized ledger that updates roughly every 10 minutes across thousands of computers globally.

It uses cryptographic tools like public-key encryption, hash functions, and digital signatures to keep everything secure and tamper-proof.
